2019 Midwest Art History Society (MAHS) conference, March 21-23, 2019 at the Cincinnati Art Museum and the Taft Museum of Art. Invitation to submit a paper proposal for a special session on The Movement and Reinterpretation of South and Southeast Asian Art.This session examines shifting functions and meanings of works of art and architecture from South and Southeast Asia. Papers may address the re-contextualizing of works of art and architecture in many ways, such as explorations of works that have shifted collections or are now in museum settings, to studies of architectural structures that were repurposed to serve different communities and functions. Paper proposals from students as well as from junior and senior scholars and museum professionals are encouraged. 2019 SASA Conference: Taking South Asia to the World, March 1 – 3, 2019 at Claremont McKenna College. We invite and encourage Papers and Presentations that address the rich tapestry that is South Asia, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. For consideration Proposals should be submitted to SASA 2019 Academic Program Executive Chairperson, Vandana Asthana. The Panel time allocated for each Paper or Presentation will be 15 minutes plus five minutes for Q&A. The deadline for submissions is Friday, January 4, 2019. Early submissions are greatly encouraged.
